Indonesia Horticulture Festival 2013 (PF2N) to be held in October 2013
Bearing the theme “Indonesian Horticulture as a Healthy Lifestyle”, the Indonesia Horticulture Festival 2013 (PF2N) will be held on 2-8 October 2013 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesia; Yogyakarta Province Agriculture Office, and the Yogyakarta City of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and Agriculture Office, PF2N 2013 aims to promote the development of horticulture in Indonesia.
The festival will feature a national horticultural exhibition that will display the results of local developments on fruits, vegetables, medicinal plants, and floriculture projects throughout Indonesia. Aside from the national exhibition, a jamboree on horticultural varieties and landscaping will exhibit various high-yielding varieties of crops recommended by the Ministry and a bazaar will provide a space for businesses to showcase and sell their various goods.
Various capacity enhancement activities such as seminars and courses will be open to the public, providing information on technical skills essential to horticultural businesses.
PF2N 2013 will also provide a venue for local and foreign investors to communicate with farmers, farmer groups, and manufacturers, with the goal of creating public and private partnerships.
Other activities include competitions, parades, cultural performances, agro-tourism tourism tours, booths for permits and information on seeds, and culinary markets.
